Your egg quality is not ideal. The embryo grade formed this time is not high. It is recommended to try a new ovulation induction program
In reproductive centers, these words are the most feared by many women preparing for pregnancy. Ms. Li, who is 37 years old, has experienced two failed IVF tests. Every time she hears the result of 'poor embryo quality', she feels one step further away from her dream of becoming a mother. "After eating all kinds of nutrients and giving injections, why can't we produce good embryos?" This is a common puzzle for her and countless sisters.
Until this month, a groundbreaking study published in the top journal Cell may reveal the other side of the problem: for years, we may have been looking for the wrong 'battlefield'.

The most exciting aspect of this study is that through targeted interventions, the rate of high-quality embryos has jumped from 30% to 80% - a full 50 percentage point increase, and the key is not in the ovaries themselves, but in an unexpected place: the gut. More precisely, it is the "microbiota factory" composed of trillions of microorganisms in the intestine. These microorganisms can ferment the dietary fiber we consume into a key substance called butyrate. It is this small molecule that plays the role of "remote control" of ovarian function.
In IVF, we often find that:
Some patients have a large number of follicles, but the retrieved eggs have cloudy cytoplasm and poor morphology
After fertilization, the embryo develops slowly and has a high fragmentation rate
The process of nourishing the bladder is' followed by fatigue ', and it stagnates on the third day
The traditional approach is to adjust the medication for promoting excretion and add adjuvant drugs. But this study found that the root of the problem may lie in the "internal environment" in which the egg lives.
Research has confirmed that butyrate, the 'signal soldier', can accurately reach the ovaries and begin working:
Based on this study, if you are preparing for IVF, in addition to the medical plan formulated by the doctor, these few things are worth doing immediately:
1. Redefine the term 'pregnancy preparation time'
Don't wait until a month before the start of the week to temporarily supplement your nutrition. The complete development cycle of an egg is about 90 days, which means you need to start regulating your gut microbiota at least 3 months in advance.
2. Intelligently "feed" a good microbial community
Your diet is not feeding yourself, but feeding the 'good workers' in your intestines:
Breakfast: change porridge and steamed stuffed buns into oatmeal, and add a spoonful of flaxseed powder
Main course: Replace white rice with mixed grain rice (brown rice+black rice+quinoa+beans)
Side dishes: Eat more onions, garlic, and chives (they are rich in inulin and are the favorite probiotics)
Snacks: replace biscuits and cakes with nuts and dried tofu
3. Protect your gut factory well
Avoid overuse of antibiotics (please follow medical advice when necessary), strictly control sugar and refined carbohydrates intake, and give the body enough sleep and stress relief time.

After working in the field of reproduction for over a decade, I have come to realize more and more clearly that success in IVF is not a single breakthrough, but the ultimate manifestation of one's overall state.
The biggest revelation from this study is that sometimes the biggest breakthrough in pursuing motherhood comes from our most familiar daily routines. So it's time to change our mindset. When you put in so much effort for IVF, don't forget that the answer may be on your plate.
